Robert Schumann’s Secret Code Discovered Inside Composition

March 11, 2016, Cincinnati, OH, United States- The international cellist Carmine Miranda discovered a code hidden in the music of Robert Schumann’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in A minor, Op. 129. The Musical Times journal of music recently published an article by the twenty seven year old cellist, which indicates that Schumann encoded the name of his wife in the musical score. This important discovery gives insight into the life of the composer during his later years in Germany.

Robert Schumann (1810-1856) wrote the piece in a period of two weeks and later revised it for two more consecutive years. During this time he underwent a tumultuous period, which according to historians lead the composer into a downward spiral of depression. According to Miranda’s article, the composer meticulously used letters from Clara Schumann’s name to write the melodic and harmonic content of the piece.  
   
According to Carmine Miranda, “The Schumann Cello Concerto in A minor, offers undeniable proof of Schumann’s knowledge of cryptography which provides an understanding that at first glance might seem like infelicities in the composition. The concerto not only uniquely illustrates what took place inside the mind of the composer, but also demonstrates Schumann’s compositional genius.”

The article written by Mr. Miranda titled “Decoding The Schumann Cello Concerto” follows in the footsteps of great historians and scholars through an intense analysis of the piece’s movements. Miranda’s article also explains the reasoning behind the Cello Concerto’s fragmentary musical structure which has long been attributed to the composer’s mental deterioration by many historians.    
 
The Musical Times is one of the oldest classical music journals in the United Kingdom originally established in 1844, ten years after Robert Schumann co-founded the Neue Zeitschrift für Musik. Newsletter Announces Interactive Quiz on Cat Urination Problems

10 Egg Substitutes for Baking and Other Cooking.

You have run out of fresh and powdered eggs, so what can you use for egg substitutes?  Eggs are used for taste, to add moisture, bind ingredients or even to help with leavening baked goods.

There are a number of items that you may have in your storage that can be used as an egg substitute.

Some work better than others do. When you pick a substitute, take into consideration the purpose that the eggs serve in the recipe.

Banana

[Mashing-bananas] A half a mashed banana replaces one egg in a recipe for baking. Bananas work well in sweet muffins and yeast-free breads because of the banana taste.

Bananas add moisture to your recipe and help to bind the ingredients together.

Condensed Milk

Condensed milk can also be used as an egg substitute in many cake recipes.

1/4 cup of sweetened condensed milk is used to replace each egg in a recipe.

Canned pumpkin

A quarter cup of pumpkin will replace one egg. Because of the distinctive flavor of pumpkin it is best to use it with strong flavored ingredients or ingredients that compliment its flavor.

Applesauce

[Eats_Applesauce] For baking a quarter cup of applesauce replaces one egg.

Applesauce adds moisture and helps bind the dry ingredients together.

Tofu

If you’re trying to recreate traditional egg recipes like scrambled eggs or omelets, tofu is the best substitute since its consistency most closely resembles cooked eggs.

Tofu is soft, squishy, and has little taste, so you can add whatever flavors you want to the dish.

Adding a little turmeric to your tofu will give it a yellowish hue,

Ground flaxseed

[466019968_XS] Mix one-tablespoon flax meal with three-tablespoons of water.

This mixture helps to binds the dry ingredients in baked goods together.

It also adds moisture.  Be careful that you do not use rancid flaxseed.

Baking Soda and Vinegar

This works as a substitute for fluffier baked goods.

Use 1 teaspoon of baking soda mixed with 1 tablespoon of white vinegar as a substitute for one egg.

Lemon As An Egg Substitute

For recipes that only use one egg, you can use up-to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice for an egg substitute.

Yogurt/Buttermilk As An Egg Substitute

[why-bananas-flax-chia-even-blood-make-great-egg-substitutes.w654] 1/4 cup of buttermilk or yogurt  can be substituted for each egg. The baked goods should come out light and fluffy.

Cornstarch

Mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch to 3 tablespoons water. This works as a good binder.

Although these egg substitutes work fairly well, unfortunately none of them are exactly like real eggs.

You will need to experiment with the substitutes to find the one that work best in what you are baking.

Letter: Ammunition Versus Silver for Barter

Dear Editors,

[06] So here is my ten cents worth… I believe in buying silver bullion now, but dumping it when spot silver hits $30, $40, or $50 per ounce.

If you are buying now, then a $20 per ounce (or more) gain per ounce is far better than most any other investments.

In fact, I would be happy to sell my bullion at $3 below spot, when silver is $40 an ounce! Remember, if things get really bad, you can’t eat gold or silver.

In my estimation U.S. pre-1965 silver coinage is apropos for what I would call the intermediate breakdown. But later, brass and lead will become the dominant currency.

Ammo you buy and store [in proper ammo cans] will most likely be fine long after you who are reading this have passed away.

It depends where you are, but in my recent experience it is time o’plenty for ammo! The .22 Long Rifle was available in late February at my Northern Indiana Cabela’s store by the thousands.

Today at a Minnesota Cabela’s it was not quite as plentiful, but still on the shelves.

My friend from Texas said that his neck of the woods the supply of .22 is still dry.

[07] I don’t know why, but that’s the story.

If you are reading this and not yet buying your favorite flavor of ammo and stacking it deep RIGHT NOW, then do so!

I was pleased to see that 9mm is back down to $10 a box of $50, and 5.56 is back down to below $8 per box of 20. So this is the time to buy. Do it.

Buy spare magazines now, too! Stock up on Glock, Ruger 10/22, and AR-15 magazines. But whatever you think would be popular in your region! Buy a dozen, 2 dozen, 3 dozen.Then sell that last dozen when they are banned! I really don’t feel sorry for the guy who bought those G3 mags from me at $8 each.

They cost me just .99. each Yep, under a buck.

Those 12 that he bought from me []in effect] paid for the other 88 that I still have!

I hear you, folks: money is tight. But if you have a flicker of the AMERICAN ENTREPRENEUR in you, then this is a great time to flex your American Spirit!  Buying 2 boxes of 9mm a week will cost you roughly $22 with tax.  Or if you want to get deeper, then let’s talk about talk rotation [of inventory]:  The old .22 Aussie ammo that I had since maybe 1989. Not long ago I sold 10 boxes of it at the rate of  $7 per 50 round box.

I can tell you that was some cruddy stuff. Yes it shot, but oh boy!  [It is grungy.] So today, I take that $70 gross proceeds and reinvest it in quality ammo. It isn’t that hard to figure out.

What is popular? 9mm, 5.56mm,7.62×39, and so forth. As I say on my eBay listings, “You have been informed!” – J.J. in Wisconsin

[08] JWR Replies:  There are still chronic shortages of .22 rimfire ammunition in many parts of the country.

I expect this to continue for the next few years, regardless of who wins the next presidential election.

There is presently just too much demand built into the system.  This requires a bit of explanation.

The ammo shortages of the past few years have trained the American consumer. Now, whenever they see .22 ammo available, they jump on it.

It will be a long time before folks feel that they’ve stockpiled their lifetime supply.

You see the following scene regularly at many Wal-Mart stores all over the country: The customers have figured out what day(s) of the week and roughly what time the ammo shipments arrive.

Like clockwork, they are waiting there patiently. (Most of them are gray-haired retired men, presumably stockpiling for themselves their progeny, and their grand-progeny.) A sign is usually posted that says: “Limit: 5 Boxes Per Customer.”  So everyone in the short queue dutifully takes their 5 boxes and heads home. Just 15 or 20 minutes later, the store is sold out of .22 LR until the next shipment.  On and on the cycle repeats, week after week.

On another note, some pundits have argued that it is not safe to barter ammunition, since home invasion robbers might target you as a “high value target.”    That might be true in an urban environment, but out here in the hinterboonies, where nearly everyone is armed,  I don’t think that it would create a high profile.

My advice: buy both small denomination silver coins and common caliber ammunition for barter.

Then, you will be ready for just about any bartering situation, to meet your family’s daily needs for staple items that you might have overlooked.
