Frankfort, Kentucky (PRBuzz.com) November 28, 2012 -- The Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky has honored Earl Reginald Stevenson, with a commission as a Kentucky Colonel "in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to the nation". Stevenson joined an impressive list of notables who have been commissioned. Being commissioned a Kentucky Colonel is the highest honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky upon a private citizen and only the sitting Governor has the power to issue the commission. The honor is conferred upon persons who exhibit exemplary character, leadership, and a dedication to the welfare of others. Stevenson is a former U.S. Marine, a commissioned Colonel, and life member of Mensa.
Stevenson is a close friend of actor, Johnny Depp and is a direct descendant of John Stevenson, one of the first settlers at Jamestown, Virginia. Stevenson was recently nominated by legendary British rock icon Sir Cliff Richard for The Order of the British Empire to be bestowed by Her Majesty, The Queen. Stevenson is a well-known friend of actor Johnny Depp, Lisa Marie Presley, the late David Carradine, Jan-Michael Vincent, Walking Tall's Bo Svenson, Bo Hopkins, former FEMA Director and Undersecretary of Homeland Security Michael D. Brown. Stevenson also holds a coveted Kukkiwon 4th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo and also holds a 5th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo from Elvis Presley's instructor.
