Southlake, TX (PRBuzz.com) June 17, 2014 -- Swordfish Financial, Inc. (OTCQB: SWRF) (“SFI,” “Swordfish,” or the “Company”), a diversified investment and small business growth company, and iPoint Television, a subsidiary of Swordfish, announced today that recently acquired Dash Media has officially launched its 24-hour digital network channel, “Movee4U,” on Roku.

“This is Dash Media’s pioneer of many upcoming projects to be launched in the near future,” commented Clark Ortiz, CEO of Swordfish Financial, Inc. “It is an exciting step forward in ipoint TV’s evolution as a world-renown digital media company, and it adds meaningful depth to the Swordfish investment strategy.”

Movee4U launched as a free app in June, and currently showcases independent films and television shows.  By August, the app will be available through a monthly subscription fee, and will also include classic, nostalgia-based quality programming from a variety of genres. Future plans include the development of Android and iOS-based apps through Swordfish subsidiary, iPoint Global Entertainment, to create a seamless user experience, but an official target date has not yet been released.

Initially available exclusively through Roku, a digital streaming device manufacturer with nearly 8 million units shipped as of January, 2014, Movee4U will stay committed to being a trusted family-friendly network devoted to quality storytelling. Movee4U showcases presentations from the acclaimed Dash Media library and a will also include a mix of classic theatrical films, bringing legendary movie stars like John Wayne, Elizabeth Taylor, Ginger Rogers, Charlie Chaplin, Sophia Loren, and many others to your living room.

An estimated $200-$300 million in revenue is expected to be generated by nostalgia TV networks and classic movie channels by 2014, and the numbers are growing[1]. In addition, digital streaming continues to grab major market-share in both music and video consumption, and is expected to continue with the advancement and proliferation of smart devices, including phones, tablets, and televisions.[2][3]

“People all over the world are opting for media content providers that are flexible, customizable, and portable,” said Mr. Ortiz. “We love working with Roku, because the environment it provides allows us to create ala carte programming options not available on other streaming devices. It is also compatible with both iOS and Android-based smart devices, such as phones and tablets, and with the addition of our new channel we are diversifying and expanding our digital media presence and conduits to revenue.”

Roku continues to expand their platform offerings, with the high likelihood of certifying over 100 new devices this year alone. In 2013, streaming on Roku devices drew over 1.7 billion hours, with each unit playing an average of 13 hours per week, and 25% of Roku players streaming 35+ hours per week. [4]

“Movee4U brings a diverse range of film genres, including suspense, Westerns, coming-of-age dramas, and fantasy. These Movies inspire audiences and transport viewers to a time when life was a bit simpler,” said John Dash, president and founder of Dash Media, LLC. “These are the timeless masterpieces we grew up with, which continue to touch us, generation after generation.”

In addition to the classic programming, Dash Media is also working with independent producers all over the United States to add new content on a monthly basis.

The channel is currently available on Roku for free during the months of June and July and will become a subscription-based premium channel with a $1.99 monthly fee starting in August, 2014. To download the channel on your Roku device go to:
