June 6, 2014 - Princeville, HI -- Two moms from the beautiful Hawaiian Island of Kauai have always had a passion for helping kids and their parents and caregivers. They also both love the beach and family time. Soon after meeting, they quickly realized they shared similar passions.
Lucy Ben-Avraham was born and raised on a dairy farm in South Africa. Lucy learned early in life to "believe in yourself" and "follow your dreams." At the age of four she was taken from her parents, and spent the next eight years in a foster home. At age 12, loving parents adopted Lucy and told her that she could accomplish anything to which she set her mind. She later married, moved to California and they began raising their daughter. Fueled by a desire to help children live joyful, productive lives, Lucy opened a daycare center. She saw firsthand that all children need tools for expressing feelings and for believing in themselves. This was Lucy's "Aha!" moment, discovering that her purpose in life was to give these tools to young children and their caregivers.

Family has always been very important to Kim White. She grew up with 2 brothers and dozens of cousins close by. Her very large extended family, always close-knit, provided lots of love and support.
Later, when Kim started her own family she built on that experience. Being the best mom to her daughters has always been her main focus. In the process of raising her family she became a CPA and successful business woman by providing invaluable advice to her many business clients. She then became a part owner in her own very successful CPA firm. She loved her business but her passion always remained with kids.
In 2005, she moved with her family to Hawaii seeking a better and more laid back lifestyle. Raising her daughters she discovered firsthand how each child is unique and presents their own challenges. She also became keenly aware of how some kids have particular sensitivities and very specialized emotional needs which can lead to a redefining of parenthood. So Kim yearned for a way to help other parents through these challenges.
Later Kim met Lucy and the two connected immediately. Their two young daughters quickly became great pals. Lucy shared with Kim her passion for helping kids and her idea of Mottos™.
